Removal & Installation

Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
Forward discriminating sensor is on radiator support. Remove right and left instrument panel sound insulators. Remove grille. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip. Disconnect sensor connector from left fender in engine compartment. Snap open 6 pigtail conduit clips, and remove sensor pigtail. Remove 2 bolts retaining sensor, and remove discriminating sensor. See Fig 1 .
To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten sensor attaching bolts to 62 INCH lbs. (7 N.m). Ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
