Removal & Installation
- Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- DERM is located right of steering column. Remove instrument panel right sound insulator. Remove Remote Accessory Control (RAC) module from multi-use bracket, and position it aside. See Fig 1
. Remove bolt from DERM bracket, and slide DERM from multi-use bracket.
- Disconnect DERM electrical connector. Remove nut attaching bracket to DERM, and remove DERM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten attaching nuts to 35 INCH lbs. (4 N.m). Ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
