History Code 83 - Driver Reserve Diode Shorted: Description

DERM checks dual pole arming sensor for a shorted driver reserve diode once each ignition cycle during TURN-ON tests, before either 36VLR output is active. When DERM detects a shorted driver reserve diode, it advances an internal counter. If DERM detects a shorted driver reserve diode for 8 consecutive ignition cycles, counter stops advancing and sets a History Code 83. DERM resets counter to zero when clear conditions are met. If neither failure or clear conditions are met, counter remains unchanged.
