Code 44 (Chart 2) - Passenger Source Feed Low: Description

Code 44 sets when failure conditions are met during DERM CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests. Tests are performed for one second after initial TURN-ON tests are completed and every 100 milliseconds while IGNITION 1 voltage is present at DERM. CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests check both deployment loops for continuity from DERM's 36VLR outputs through dual pole arming sensor, inflator modules, SIR coil and discriminating sensors to ground. Code 44 indicates an open, short to ground or short to 5 volts on PASS SOURCE SENSE circuit or a fault in dual pole arming sensors's PASS SOURCE SENSE circuitry.
