Code 36 - Passenger Loop Energy Reserve Feed Open: Description

Code 36 sets when failure conditions are met during Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module (DERM) CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests. These tests are performed for one second after initial TURN-ON tests are completed and every 100 milliseconds while IGNITION 1 voltage is present at DERM after INITIATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE tests are completed.

CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests check both deployment loops for continuity from DERM's 36VLR outputs through dual pole arming sensor, inflator module, SIR coil and discriminating sensors to ground. Code 36 indicates an open in PASSENGER 36VLR circuit, a short to battery on PASS SOURCE SENSE circuit or an open passenger reserve diode in dual pole arming sensor.
