Code 25 (Chart 2) - Initiator Circuit Short To Ignition: Description

During INITIATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE tests, DERM first grounds DRIVER SENSE LOW output for 50 milliseconds and then monitors voltage at both DRIVER SENSE LOW and PASS SENSE LOW inputs. DERM simultaneously opens DRIVER SENSE LOW output and grounds PASS SENSE LOW output for 50 milliseconds. DERM again monitors voltage at both DRIVER SENSE LOW and PASS SENSE LOW inputs. Code 25 sets if both SENSE LOW voltages are greater than 3 volts during both INITIATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE tests. Codes 18 and 25 are also tested for approximately 100 milliseconds every 10 minutes. Code 25 indicates a short to voltage in either driver or passenger initiator circuits.
