DERM turns on INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator light.

WARNING:
To avoid air bag deployment while troubleshooting the SIR system, only use test equipment specified in diagnostic charts. Under no circumstances should battery powered test equipment or test light be used. Carefully follow all instructions.
- Codes 16 and 22 set when PASS SENSE HIGH and DRIVER SENSE HIGH circuits short together.
- Checks to ensure steering column connector is securely connected. If connector is not connected properly, shorting bar can cause Code 22 to set.
- Checks whether fault is in steering column.
- Checks for a short between DRIVER SENSE HIGH and DRIVER SENSE LOW circuits.
- Checks for a short between DRIVER SENSE HIGH and PASS SENSE LOW circuits.
