DERM turns on INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator light.

Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS.
WARNING:
To avoid air bag deployment while troubleshooting the SIR system, only use test equipment specified in diagnostic charts. Under no circumstances should battery powered test equipment or test light be used. Carefully follow all instructions.
- Codes 16 and 22 set when PASS SENSE HIGH and DRIVER SENSE HIGH circuits short together.
- Checks to make sure passenger inflator module connector is securely connected. If connector is not properly connected, shorting bar can cause Code 16 to set.
- Checks if fault is in passenger inflator module or wiring harness.
- Checks for a short between PASS SENSE HIGH and PASS SENSE LOW circuits.
- Checks for a short between PASS SENSE HIGH and DRIVER SENSE LOW circuits.
