Code 26 (Chart 2) - Open In Steering Column

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS.

WARNING: To avoid air bag deployment while trouble shooting SIR system, only use test equipment specified in diagnostic charts. Under no circumstances should battery powered test equipment or test light be used. Carefully follow all instructions.

1. Checks for an open in circuit No. 348 or 349 or dual sensor.
2. Checks for an open in circuit No. 348.
3. Checks for an open in circuit No. 349.
4. Checks for proper resistance of 430-ohm resistor in resistor module.
5. Checks for short between circuits No. 236 and 753.
