Valve Lifters: Removal

  1. Remove rocker arm covers. See ROCKER ARM COVERS &/OR GASKET under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Remove rocker arms and pedestals. See ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Remove pushrod, guide retainer bolts and retainer, lifter guides, and valve lifters. See Figure .
NOTE: Mark component locations for reassembly reference.
