Timing Chain & Sprockets: Installation
- If the pistons have been moved in the engine, perform following items (otherwise, go to Step 2). Rotate crankshaft so No. 1 cylinder is at TDC. Temporarily install camshaft sprocket. Rotate camshaft sprocket so timing mark is straight down.
- Assemble timing chain on sprockets with timing marks in their closest together position. See Figure . Install timing chain and sprocket. Install camshaft sprocket bolt. Tighten to 100 N.m + 90 degrees (74 lb.ft. + 90 degrees).
- Install timing chain damper. Tighten special bolt to 19 N.m (14 lb.ft). Rotate engine 2 revolutions. Ensure timing marks are aligned. Install front cover..
