Intake Manifold: Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel injector sight shield and air intake duct. Remove spark plug wires on right side of engine and set aside.
  2. Remove fuel rail, exhaust crossover heat shield, the cable bracket to cylinder head mounting bolt, and the power steering pump support bracket.
  3. Loosen generator and move to obtain clearance. Remove generator bracket. Disconnect heater pipes and bypass hose. Remove intake manifold bolts and manifold.
