Front Cover: Installation

  1. Install gasket at cylinder block. Install front cover and attaching bolts. Apply sealant GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent to bolt threads. Tighten bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb.ft.).
  2. Install oil pan to front cover bolts. Tighten to 14 N.m (124 lb.in.). Install crankshaft sensor, and sensor shield.
  3. Install balancer and bolt. Coat sealing surface of crankshaft pulley/balancer shaft and seal with oil prior to installation. Tighten balancer bolt to 150 N.M + 76 degrees (111 lb.ft. + 70 degrees).
  4. Install drive belt. Install torque axis mount.
