Front Cover Seal: Installation

  1. Install oil seal using J 35354 seal installer. Use the crankshaft balancer bolt with the tool. Tighten the bolt until the seal is seated in the cover. Remove J 35354.
  2. Coat outside seal surface of crankshaft balancer with lubricant GM P/N 1050169 or equivalent. Install crankshaft balancer and bolt. Tighten balancer bolt to 150 N.m + 76 degrees (111 lb.ft. + 76 degrees).
