Removal & Installation: Flywheel: Inspection

  1. Inspect flywheel. If cracked, badly worn or if teeth are broken, replace.
  2. Check crankshaft and flywheel mating surfaces for burrs. Remove as required.
  3. Check flywheel bolts for stretching. If the bolt length is greater than 16.5 mm (.650 inch) replace with new bolts.
