Removal & Installation: Supercharger: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove accessory drive belt from supercharger pulley. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove fuel injector sight shield.
  2. Disconnect fuel pipes from fuel rail and vacuum hose at fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect electrical connectors from fuel injectors. Remove fuel rail mounting bolts and fuel rail with injectors.
  3. Disconnect Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor, EGR and boost control solenoid, and lay harness aside. Remove air intake duct. Remove EGR pipe, throttle and cruise control cables from supercharger. Remove cable bracket. Remove tensioner bracket to supercharger mounting stud.
NOTE: Stud must be removed or supercharger cannot be lifted high enough to clear supercharger from lower intake locator pins. This could cause parts damage. To remove stud, use a stud removal tool or jam nut procedure. The jam nut procedure consists of tightening two 8 mm nuts together on stud and removing stud by placing wrench on inner nut and turning counterclockwise.
CAUTION: Verify intake manifold and supercharger mating surfaces.
