Control Arm Bushing: Removal
- Raise vehicle and suitably support.
- Support rear axle under front side of spring seat.
- If removing right bushing, disconnect parking brake cable from hook guide.
- Remove dual parking brake cables from bracket attachment, and pull out of way (right side only).
- Remove brakeline bracket attachment from frame.
- Remove shock lower attaching nut and bolt. Pull spring out of way.
- Remove control arm bracket-to-underbody attaching bolts. Allow control arm to rotate downward.
- Nut and bolt from bracket attachment. Remove bracket.
- Remove bushing as follows:
- Install J 28685-2 into J 9519-23. See Fig 1

- Install J 28685-1 onto bushing behind flange.
- Place J 9519-23 into position on bushing. Install bushing bolt for correct positioning.
- Remove bushing from control arm by turning bolt.
