Gauge Stays At EMPTY

Turn ignition switch to RUN position with engine off. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector. If gauge reads FULL, replace sending unit. If gauge stays at EMPTY, disconnect instrument cluster connector. Connect test light between instrument cluster connector terminals D3 and D10. See Figure . If test light comes on, repair short to ground in Purple wire. If test light does not come on, replace instrument cluster.
