Power Brake Unit: Removal

  1. Remove master cylinder from power brake unit leaving brake lines attached. On 1.6L, remove vacuum hose union nut from intake manifold. Disconnect vacuum hose from booster.
  2. Remove windshield washer fluid tank. Remove brake light switch, brake pedal spring and push rod pin with retainer. On models with power steering, remove lower mount screw located behind fluid lines.
  3. On all other models, remove pedal bracket hex nuts from dash panel. On all models, separate booster with bracket from dash panel by turning diagonally while pulling upward.
