Temperature Gauge Inaccurate

  1. Disconnect coolant temperature sender connector. Connect one Red clip of Gauge Tester (J-33431) to Gray/White gauge wire and other Red clip to ground. Adjust resistance of tester to 1365 ohms, then to 55 ohms. Gauge should show cold, then hot.
  2. If gauge reads correctly, wiring and gauge are okay. Replace coolant temperature sender. If gauge is not correct, check gauge connections and Green/White and Gray/White wires for high resistance. If wires are okay, replace gauge.
