Hub & Bearing Assembly: Inspection

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Free disc brake pads away from rotor or remove caliper. Remove brake drum (if equipped). Install 2 wheel nuts to secure rotor (if equipped).
  2. Mount dial indicator with stem resting against hub. Push inward on rotor or hub. Adjust indicator to zero. Pull outward and note reading. Replace hub assembly if movement exceeds .005" (.12 mm).
