Removal ("A" Body)
- Raise vehicle and support axle in front of coil spring seat. Remove wheels. When removing right control arm bushing, disconnect parking brake cable from hook guide. Remove parking brake cables from bracket for access to control arm bushing.
- Remove brake line brackets. Remove shock absorber lower mounting bolt. Remove spring for access to control arm. Only one control arm bushing should be replaced at a time. On models equipped with anti-lock brake systems, wheel speed sensor may need to be disconnected.
- On all models, remove control arm-to-body mounting bolt. Rotate control arm downward. Mark bracket location on control arm. Remove bracket from control arm. Control Arm Bushing Kit (J-28685) is used for bushing replacement.
- Install bushing remover assembly on control arm bushing. See Fig 1 . Ensure components are aligned before tightening removal tool bolt. Tighten bolt until bushing is removed.
