Removal & Installation (Camaro & Firebird)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Support rear axle assembly. From above, pull back carpeting and remove upper shock absorber mounting nut. Remove shock absorber lower mounting nut and remove shock absorber.
    CAUTION: Support axle assembly before removing upper shock absorber mounting nut to avoid damage to brake lines, track bar and drive shaft.
  2. To install shock absorber, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mounting nuts to specification.
