Servicing Metering Valve

  1. On vehicles with rear drum brakes, the metering section of the combination valve must be deactivated before bleeding.
  2. To hold the metering valve open to pressure bleed the front brakes, the valve stem must be pushed in or pulled out. Loosen front mounting bolt and install tool (J-35856) on the combination valve. See Fig 1 . Stem should be fully extended or depressed.
