Torsional Damper: Installation

  1. Coat front cover seal contact area on damper with oil. Place damper in position over key on crankshaft. Using hub puller/installer, position threaded end of tool on crankshaft, ensuring .50" (13 mm) of thread engagement.
  2. Install remaining tool components and pull damper into position. Remove installer tool. Install crankshaft pulley. Install and tighten damper and pulley retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install accessory drive belt(s) and related components. Tighten belts, nuts and bolts.
