Front Coil Spring

FIREBIRD
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove stabilizer link and bushings at lower control arm.
4. Remove pivot bolt nuts. Do not remove pivot bolts at this time.
5. Install adapter tool No. J-23028 or equivalent adapter to floor jack and place into position with supporting bushings.
6. Install jackstand under outside frame on opposite side of vehicle.
7. Raise tool No. J-23028 enough to remove both pivot bolts.
8. Lower tool No. J-23028 carefully and remove spring.
9. Remove ball joint from steering knuckle using tool No. J-24292A or equivalent as outlined under ``Ball Joint, Replace.''
10. Replace bushings in lower control arm.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Torque nut to 70 ft. lbs.
