FIREBIRD
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Place a suitable floor jack under control arm spring seat. Floor jack must remain under control arm spring seat during removal and installation to retain spring and control arm in position.
4. Remove cotter pin and loosen nut. Use tool J-24292A to break ball joint loose from steering knuckle.
5. Remove tool and separate joint from knuckle.
6. Guide lower control arm out of opening in splash shield with a suitable tool.
7. Remove grease fittings, and install special tools as shown in Fig. 6.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Torque ball stud nut to 90 ft. lbs.
