Trouble Shooting
The digital cluster uses Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD's) to indicate several vehicle functions. The LCD displays are not backlit. Illumination for crystals is provided by high-powered halogen lights.
The lights may burn out while the electronics function normally. If this should happen, carefully observe displays for normal operation. The halogen lights are replaceable from back of cluster. The instrument cluster must be removed to service bulbs.
NOTE:
There is a hidden alternator light in the digital cluster, NOT an alternator indicator bulb. This light goes out when engine is started. This hidden light is NOT replaceable, The entire digital cluster must be replaced if this bulb is blown. If the vehicle has not been used for a long period of time, the alternator may not charge the battery at all, or only partially, with this bulb out.
