Fuel Display Inaccurate

  1. Remove connector from fuel gauge sending unit. Connect one lead of Instrument Panel Tester (J-33431) to terminal "B" (Pink wire) and terminal "A" (Black wire) of the harness connector. Set resistance dial to zero ohms and then to 90 ohms.
  2. Display should read empty, and then full. Check for beep when second bar goes out. If display reads correctly, ensure that sending unit is correctly installed in tank. If so, replace fuel gauge sending unit. If display does not read correctly, check circuit No. 30 (Pink wire). If satisfactory, replace instrument cluster.
