Removal

1. Discharge refrigerant system and remove compressor from vehicle. Drain, measure, and discard compressor oil.
2. Refer to appropriate procedures, and remove clutch drive and hub, pulley rotor and bearing assembly, and clutch coil.
3. Remove shaft seal.
4. Mark and note alignment of front head, compressor center, and rear head for reassembly. Front head may be mounted in 3 different positions.
5. Remove 6 compressor through bolts. Discard bolt gaskets.
6. Remove front head by tapping mounting tabs with plastic headed hammer. Remove head gasket, front valve plate, suction reed plate and cylinder-to-front head O-ring. Discard head gasket and O-ring.
7. Inspect components and replace as necessary.
