1. Remove engine from vehicle as described under ``Engine, Replace.''
2. Remove valve lifters and engine front cover as described previously.
3. Remove timing chain and sprocket as described under ``Timing Chain, Replace.''
4. Remove camshaft rear cover, Fig. 12.
5. Withdraw camshaft from engine, using care not to damage camshaft bearings.
6. Reverse procedure to install. When installing timing chain, align valve timing marks as shown in Fig. 11. The valve timing marks, Fig. 11, do not indicate TDC compression stroke for No. 1 cylinder for use during distributor installation. When installing the distributor, rotate engine until No. 1 cylinder is on compression stroke and the camshaft timing mark is 180 degrees from valve timing position shown in Fig. 11.
