Oil Pressure Gauge Display Is Inaccurate

  1. Remove connector from oil pressure sending unit. Connect one lead of Instrument Cluster Tester (J-33431) to Tan wire terminal. Connect other tester lead to ground.
  2. Set tester resistance dial to zero ohms and then at 90 ohms. Oil pressure gauge display reading should be low and then gradually light up all bars to display high oil pressure.
  3. If oil pressure display is correct, replace oil pressure sending unit. If oil pressure display is incorrect, check Tan wire. If wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
