Fuel Gauge Display Is Inaccurate

  1. Disconnect in-line connector near fuel tank (fuel gauge sending unit). Connect Instrument Cluster Tester (J-33431) leads to Black/Yellow and Pink wire terminals on harness side of connector.
  2. Set tester resistance dial to zero ohms and then at 90 ohms. Fuel gauge display should read empty and then gradually light up all bars to a full reading.
  3. If fuel gauge display is correct, remove fuel tank and replace fuel gauge sending unit. If fuel gauge display is incorrect, check Purple and Pink wires between fuel tank and instrument cluster. If wires are okay, replace instrument cluster.
