Fuel Gauge Display Is Always Empty

  1. Disconnect in-line connector near fuel tank (fuel gauge sending unit). Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. If fuel gauge display reads full, fuel gauge circuit wiring is okay. Perform FUEL GAUGE DISPLAY IS INACCURATE test.
  2. If fuel gauge display reads empty, check for short in Pink or Purple wires between fuel tank and instrument cluster. If wires are not shorted, replace instrument cluster.
