Temperature Gauge

The coolant temperature switch sends a signal to the instrument cluster that is equal to coolant temperature. Coolant temperature switch resistance drops from 1459 ohms at 104°F (40°C) to 87 ohms at 257°F (125°C).

The electronic cluster converts this signal and activates a 14-segment bar graph which displays coolant temperature. When bar graph changes from 13 segments lit to all segments lit (high coolant temperature), an audible alarm sounds and the high coolant temperature warning indicator lights.
