Fig. 7 Front or rear cylinder head removal:

1. Discharge A/C system and remove compressor from vehicle.
2. Drain oil from compressor, measure quantity of oil drained and discard oil.
3. Remove clutch plate and hub, pulley rotor and bearing, and clutch coil assemblies as outlined.
4. Remove 6 compressor through bolts and gaskets, and discard gaskets.
5. Tap around rear edge of head using a suitable mallet and wooden block, Fig. 7, then separate head, gasket, valve and reed plates, and O-ring from compressor body, Fig. 1.
6. Inspect components and repair or replace as needed.
