Removal

1. Discharge A/C system, remove compressor, drain oil from compressor and measure quantity, then discard oil.
2. Remove clutch hub and plate, rotor and bearing, and coil assemblies.
3. Remove compressor shaft seal as outlined.
4. Remove 6 compressor through bolts and gaskets, and discard gaskets.
5. Tap around front head at mounting bosses with suitable mallet and wood block, Fig. 7, then disengage front head from cylinder assembly.
6. Remove front head and O-ring from cylinder assembly, noting installation position of thrust washer and bearing.
