Oil Pressure Gauge

  1. Disconnect oil gauge sender wire at instrument panel connector and connect Tester (J-24538-A) to sender wire and to ground. Turn ignition on.
  2. If gauge responds to tester accurately, replace sender. If gauge responds, but not accurately, remove gauge and check for loose connection at gauge terminals. If loose, tighten nuts and reinstall gauge. If connections are tight, replace gauge.
  3. If gauge does not respond, disconnect temperature gauge lead at engine harness connector. Connect tester to lead that goes to the gauge. If gauge responds to tester accurately, check wiring between sender connector and engine harness connector.
  4. If gauge does not respond, remove gauge. Check for bad connections at gauge terminals or instrument cluster connector. If connections are good, replace gauge. If connections are bad, repair connections and reinstall gauge.
