Choke Thermostat/Heater: Testing and Inspection

CHOKE FAILS TO OPEN
If choke fails to open, proceed as follows:
1. With engine running, check voltage at choke heater connection.
2. Voltage should be 12 to 15 volts. If within specifications, replace electric choke unit.
3. If voltage is low or zero, check all wires and connections. If any connections in the oil pressure switch circuitry are defective or circuit is open, the oil pressure warning light will be on with engine running. Repair wires or connectionsas necessary.
4. If, after completing Steps 2 and 3, choke still fails to open, replace oil pressure switch.
