Interior - Front End Valance Panel Buzzing/Roaring Noise

Number 85-2-8 Date 6/85
Subject: NOISE - FRONT END VALANCE PANEL

1984-85 1000

FIGURE 1 - LOWER EDGE OF VALANCE VIBRATING AGAINST TOP OF REINFORCEMENT:

Several comments have been received of a loud "roar" or "buzzing" noise at speeds above 55 MPH when driving into a head wind.

This condition may be caused by the front valance panel vibrating against the valance panel reinforcement (see illustration).

This noise may be repaired by installing a strip of adhesive backed foam rubber between the reinforcement and the valance panel on both sides of the center retaining screw..
