The drive axles are completely flexible assemblies which consist of an inner and outer constant velocity joint connected by an axle shaft. The inner constant velocity joint has the capability of moving in and out, whereas the outer joint does not.
The rear suspension, Fig. 1, is a MacPherson strut design. The lower control arms pivot from the engine cradle. The cradle uses isolation mounts to the body and conventional rubber bushings at the lower control arm pivots. A rubber mount isolates the upper end of the strut.
