Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

Most vehicles with Computer Command Control (C-3) or Electronic Fuel Injection (DFI, TBI, MFI, etc.) use a solenoid to control vacuum signals transmitted to the canister purge valve. This solenoid allows the system Electronic Control Module (ECM) to control canister purge operation.
