Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

The rear main oil seal is a one-piece seal which can be replaced without removing the oil pan or crankshaft.
1. Remove transaxle and flywheel.
2. On models equipped with manual transaxle, remove pressure plate and disc.
3. On all models, remove rear main bearing oil seal using a suitable screwdriver. Use care not to scratch crankshaft.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate outside of seal to ease assembly.
