Caliper Installation


1. Install caliper onto brake rotor mounting bracket.
2. Torque caliper mounting bolts to 30---45 ft. lbs.
3. Install brake line fitting onto caliper. Torque fitting to 30 ft. lbs.
4. Install anti-friction washer.
5. Lubricate seal, then install into caliper housing. Ensure sealing bead on seal contacts housing.
6. Install lever onto actuator screw.
7. While holding lever, install nut. Torque nut to 30---40 ft. lbs.
8. Rotate lever back against caliper stop, then install spring.
9. Install parking brake cable. Tighten cable at equalizer until lever starts to move off caliper stop. Loosen adjustment until lever moves back against caliper stop.
10. Install tire and wheel assembly, then lower vehicle.
11. Fill master cylinder with brake fluid.
12. Bleed brake system, if necessary.
