Fuel Gauge

  1. Unplug fuel gauge sender at rear body connector and connect Tester (J-24538-A) between sender wire and ground. Turn ignition to "ON". If gauge responds to tester accurately, check wiring to sender. If wiring is okay, replace sender.
  2. If gauge reads between 1/4 and 1/2 with 90 ohms from tester or is inaccurate in other ways, check for loose nuts on rear of gauge and loose wiring connections. If connections are okay, replace gauge. If gauge does not respond to tester at all, check wiring between tester and gauge for continuity, If wiring is okay, replace gauge.
