Valve Stem Oil Seals: Installation

  1. Coat valve stem with engine oil. Apply Lubriplate to all rocker arm contact surfaces. Install shim and new valve stem oil seal over valve stem and seat on valve guide. Place valve spring and retainer cap over valve stem. Compress spring and install retainer locks.
  2. Install push rod and rocker arm components. Remove air line adapter. Check and adjust valves as necessary. Install spark plugs and valve cover with new gasket.
