Rear Main Bearing Oil Seal: Installation
- Install new seal using Installer (J-34686). Ensure seal is seated squarely in bore. See Fig 1. Put seal over mandrill and slide seal until dust lip bottoms against tool collar. Align dowel pin of tool with dowel pin hole in crankshaft and attach tool to crankshaft by hand.
- Press seal into bore, turning installer's "T" handle until collar is tight in case. Loosen "T" handle and remove installer. Check seal. Install flywheel and transmission. Start engine and check for leaks.
