Intake Manifold: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable. Drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect necessary vacuum lines and electrical wires. Remove idler pulley.
  2. If equipped, remove power steering drive belt and disconnect steering pump. Remove power steering adjusting bracket. Disconnect fuel lines. Disconnect TBI linkage and remove TBI assembly.
  3. Remove distributor hold-down bracket bolt and distributor. Remove manifold attaching nuts and bolts. Remove intake manifold. Disconnect heater hose and condenser from bottom of intake manifold.
