Exhaust Manifold: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. Remove oil dipstick and air cleaner hot air duct-to-shroud bolt.
  2. Remove air cleaner hot air duct and hose. Remove dipstick tube bracket bolt. If equipped, remove A/C suction line bracket bolt. Disconnect O2 sensor bracket.
  3. Remove alternator belt, bracket bolts and spacer. Remove alternator support bracket. Remove pulsair pipe (if equipped). Raise vehicle and disconnect exhaust inlet pipe at manifold.
  4. Lower vehicle and disconnect air management-to-check valve hose and bracket. If equipped with A/C, remove suction-line bracket. Remove exhaust manifold bolts. Remove manifold.
