Cylinder Head: Installation
- Clean gasket surfaces of cylinder head and block. Ensure all gasket surfaces are free of nicks, heavy scratches and foreign materials. Clean threads of head bolts and bolt holes in cylinder block.
- Coat both sides of new head gasket with sealer. Position cylinder head gasket on block using dowel pins as guide. Carefully lower head into place seating head on dowel pins.
- Coat head bolt seating face and threads with sealing compound. Install head bolts and tighten in proper sequence. Refer to Fig. Fig 1. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Start engine and check for leaks.
